Immersion Therapy Sessions

Immersive therapy offers a powerful opportunity to explore your personal story and uncover the core beliefs and habitual thought patterns that shape your current life experience. As a key component of this approach, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly effective method for resolving trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. The accelerated pace of immersive therapy makes it a time- and cost-efficient path to healing—an investment in yourself that can yield lasting, transformative results.

Four to six hour immersion

During the four—to six-hour Immersion session, we collaborate to reduce the impact of a single traumatic event or a limiting belief system and help you regain the ability to engage in your life fully. This immersion session is an effective way to alter your perspective on yourself and your role in the world, which can lead to a healthier mindset.

We all have a story to tell. Unfortunately, some of our stories have tragic episodes that have shaped us and left us with painful memories that are hard to endure. Clearing the Story Immersion is a program that challenges and changes your perspective on your life and helps you to create a better narrative of who you are today. The program includes EMDR therapy, a significant component of this immersion, along with other tools and resources to help you navigate and heal. The duration of your immersion will be determined based on your individual needs and goals, which will be discussed during your consultation call.

2-4 day clearing the story
Immersion for Veterans

You have demonstrated a selfless attitude by prioritizing the well-being of others over yourself and have made sacrifices to uphold your moral code. It is now your time to heal. Immersion Therapy Sessions offer a proven treatment for PTSD, moral injury, depression, combat operational stress, military sexual trauma, and other mental health issues that may have arisen from your service to your country or community. These immersions, which last for two to four days, are specifically designed for veterans and first responders and can also be a viable solution for active-duty soldiers between deployments.

Sample Full-Day EMDR Immersion (6 Hours)

Morning: Arrive & Settle In (30 minutes)
We’ll start by creating a sense of calm and safety. Through gentle grounding and relaxation exercises, you’ll settle into your body, connect with the space, and prepare for the work ahead. We will also introduce simple coping strategies to help you feel safe and steady throughout the day.

Mapping Your Inner Landscape (30–60 minutes)
Together, we will explore the core themes or concerns you’d like to focus on. In a relaxed, open conversation, we will identify themes, memories, or experiences you feel ready to process. You will choose where to begin, always moving at a pace that feels right for you.

EMDR Processing — First Round (90–120 minutes)
This is where the deeper work begins. You will be guided through focused EMDR processing, allowing your mind and body to set the pace. Breaks are welcome whenever needed to ensure you feel supported throughout the process. This is your space to release old emotional patterns and open to new ways of seeing feelings and seeing yourself.

Midday Pause (60 minutes)
A full hour to step away, recharge, and nourish your body. You might take a short walk, enjoy a quiet lunch, or rest before returning to your immersion session.

EMDR Processing — Second Round (120 minutes)
We’ll return to your chosen memory or theme, continuing the processing and beginning to integrate the emotional shifts. This is also where we’ll plant new, supportive beliefs that feel true in your body, helping you carry this transformation forward.

Integration & Closing (60 minutes)
Our final hour is a soft landing. We will ground your insights, seal in the shifts, and create a personal toolkit for carrying this transformation forward into everyday life.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN IMMERSION?
Immersion therapy begins with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. This is not a therapy session; it's an opportunity to ensure that an immersion session suits your current needs.  Once this is determined, we will discuss the duration of your immersion to customize it to fit your therapeutic goals.  At this time, we will schedule a one-hour intake session and your four-hour or multiple-day immersion.  A 50% deposit will be collected to hold the immersion date. Any questions that you may have can be answered at this time.

HOW DO I KNOW IF AN IMMERSION IS NOT A GOOD FIT FOR ME?
An Immersion would not be appropriate if you are actively having thoughts of suicide, self-harming, or harming others or have been diagnosed with a Personality Disorder.  An Immersion is not a recommended if you are active in an addiction to drugs or alcohol. Participating in an Immersion Therapy session requires a minimum of four months of dedicated recovery work after completing treatment.

WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE A COUNSELOR?
An Immersion can supplement therapy that you are already receiving from your current counselor. If your current counselor does not specialize in trauma work or does not provide EMDR, an immersion can be a helpful addition to your treatment. Immersion can also be useful in couples therapy, especially when one partner requires additional treatment to aid progress in couples therapy.

WHAT IF MY SESSION IS COMPLETED EARLIER THAN THE DAYS THAT I SCHEDULED FOR MY IMMERSION SESSION?
During our consultation, you'll be given enough time to cover your stated issues when your immersion is scheduled. However, to provide comfort for scheduling multiple days, after the first day, if it is agreed to end early, you will only be charged for the time used, rounded up to the half day.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN AN IMMERSION THERAPY SESSION?
If you are coming from out of town to participate in an intensive lodging, transportation, and meals arenot included.  Upon request a list of accommodations and local restaurants is available.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
A 50% deposit is required to secure the Immersion date. If your start date is within two weeks from the day you're booked and you cancel, your deposit is non-refundable. Otherwise, you can request in writing a refund of 50% of your deposit for your canceled date. Or you may reschedule your session once. If you cancel again after rescheduling, the deposit will be forfeited.

DO YOU CONDUCT TELEMEDICINE FOR IMMERSION THERAPY SESSIONS?
Immersion therapy sessions are provided only in person and telemedicine is not offered.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER MY IMMERSION THERAPY SESSION IS COMPLETED?
After completing the Immersion Session, it's normal for things to take a few days to settle in. You may feel tired and your sleep may be slightly impacted, but this should improve over the following week. Some people report experiencing a change in their perspectives and how they manage their emotional experiences. There's often a sense of renewed hope after the session. If you feel like another immersion session may be helpful, we can discuss it during your follow-up call.
