I am eclectic in my approach using a foundation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Person Centered Psychotherapies (PCT).
CBT helps my clients with exploring and creating more adaptive coping skills, emotions and behaviors through examining and shifting the negative thought processes and the emotions that can create negative behaviors.
DBT assists in learning to regulate emotions, acquire more tolerance for stressful situation, being present and in the moment, and being effective in how you relate to others.
A Person Centered approach to therapy and coaching, means that I believe that my clients have the ability to take charge of their lives and already have the wisdom and ability to heal inside of them. In essence, I am like a tour guide showing my clients different aspects of themselves and providing helpful tools on a journey to self-empowerment.
I have found EMDR to be extremely effective techniques in working with clients who have not had previous success with more traditional forms of talk therapy and are looking for alternative solutions. EMDR is highly recommended for trauma and complex PTSD.
I am trained through the Gottman Institute for couples counseling. It is one of the most effective approaches that I have found to help couples address their core issues, learn healthy communication and healthy conflict resolution.
Through coaching I can assist you in defining your goals and formulating a plan that uses your skills to achieve these goals.

Sometimes during the sessions it becomes clear that some of the more alternative treatments might be more effective and I might make this suggestion. We can incorporate those techniques and always return to a more traditional form of talk therapy. I have been in the healing arts for over 30 years in various capacities.
